How can Digital Twins, simulation and AI help cities and mobility operators make better use of mobility data?
On 5 October 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 CET, the GEMINI and SPINE projects will come together for a joint webinar exploring how data-driven tools can support mobility planning and operations through two practical Living Lab applications in Munich and Valladolid.
The session will show how mobility data can be transformed into actionable insights, with a focus on two complementary use cases. In Munich, the GEMINI Living Lab is exploring how Digital Twins and simulation can assess Park & Ride solutions and support mobility management during major sporting events. In Valladolid, the SPINE Living Lab is applying AI and data-driven modelling to forecast bike-sharing demand and improve the planning and operation of shared mobility services.
From mobility data to practical decisions
The webinar will connect the technical work developed by Aimsun with the wider sustainability objectives of the participating Living Labs.
For the GEMINI Munich Living Lab, the work includes simulation of shuttle services during match days, analysis of traffic congestion and environmental KPIs, and car-speed forecasting using different mobility and infrastructure data sources. For SPINE in Valladolid, the session will present bike-sharing demand forecasting together with analysis of station utilisation, helping operators better anticipate demand and manage services more efficiently.
The discussion will therefore move beyond the technologies themselves, looking at how Digital Twins, simulation and AI can support more effective, sustainable and responsive mobility services.
