How can the experience gained in one European city help another city implement smarter and more sustainable mobility solutions?
On 21 September 2026, from 14:00 to 15:00 CET, the GEMINI project will host a new webinar dedicated to the GEMINI Mobility Knowledge Hub, a platform developed by the Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (ITA) to support knowledge sharing and replication across European Mobility Living Labs.
The webinar will introduce the Knowledge Hub and show how the experience generated within GEMINI can be transformed into structured, accessible and reusable knowledge for cities, mobility practitioners and other stakeholders.
From local experience to shared European knowledge
Across Europe, Mobility Living Labs are testing innovative solutions adapted to their specific local contexts. In doing so, they generate valuable knowledge on mobility applications, standards, integration methods, operational experiences and implementation challenges.
However, this knowledge can often remain scattered across project reports, technical documents and individual organisations, making it difficult for other cities to discover and reuse. The GEMINI Mobility Knowledge Hub has been developed to address this challenge, helping turn local mobility experience into shared European knowledge.
The platform brings together information from project deliverables, technical reports, workshops and direct contributions from GEMINI partners and Mobility Living Labs.
Its ambition can be summarised in three words: Share. Learn. Replicate.
What will participants discover?
During the webinar, participants will learn why the GEMINI Knowledge Hub was created, how Mobility Living Labs contribute their knowledge and how this information is transformed into structured resources that can support the replication of successful mobility solutions in other cities. The session will combine an introduction to the platform with a live demonstration.
The Knowledge Hub provides access to several interconnected areas of smart mobility knowledge, including real-world solutions implemented by GEMINI Living Labs, mobility applications and technologies, supporting documents and best practices, standards and interoperability resources, and common technical, organisational and policy challenges.
Through practical examples, the webinar will also illustrate how cities can use the platform to identify experiences relevant to their own mobility challenges. Rather than starting from scratch, they can explore solutions already tested elsewhere, understand their implementation conditions and assess their potential for transfer to a new local context.
Supporting replication across European cities
The Knowledge Hub is designed not simply as a repository, but as a tool for accelerating learning and replication.
For Mobility Living Labs, it provides a way to share experiences, exchange best practices and showcase successful solutions. Cities can use it to discover proven approaches, learn from other locations and reduce implementation risks. Policymakers can compare mobility approaches, identify policy gaps and support evidence-based decisions and replication strategies.
By making knowledge generated in individual Living Labs easier to discover and reuse, GEMINI aims to strengthen collaboration and help successful smart mobility approaches travel beyond the places where they were first tested.
Meet the speakers
The webinar will be presented by Shaghayegh Rahnama and David Escuin from ITA.
Shaghayegh Rahnama is an R&D researcher with a PhD in Mechanics, specialising in Transport and Logistics. Her expertise covers urban mobility, transport modelling and sustainable logistics, with a focus on integrated transport systems that improve accessibility, operational efficiency and environmental performance.
David Escuin is a Project Manager at ITA with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a degree in Computer Engineering. His work focuses on advanced software solutions, including data analytics and optimisation algorithms, and he also lectures in Master’s programmes at the Universidad Internacional de La Rioja (UNIR).
