Webinar: Citizen Engagement within the Urban Mobility Ecosystem 1536 1024 Gemini

Innovative mobility solutions can only succeed when people are willing and able to use them. But how can cities and mobility stakeholders effectively involve citizens in the transition towards smarter, more inclusive and sustainable transport systems?

On Wednesday, 2 September 2026, from 13:00 to 14:00 CET, the GEMINI Academy will host an online webinar dedicated to citizen engagement within the urban mobility ecosystem.

The session will explore the main challenges involved in influencing mobility-related behaviour change and the factors that shape the adoption of new mobility services and technologies. Participants will also be introduced to the GEMINI methodology for identifying user needs, co-creating solutions and validating them in real-world environments.

Particular attention will be given to practical engagement methods, including stakeholder mapping, co-design sessions, surveys, interviews and behavioural assessment tools.

Lessons from Copenhagen and Porto

The webinar will feature practical experiences from the Copenhagen and Porto Mobility Living Labs. Speakers will present the mobility challenges addressed in each local ecosystem, the approaches used to engage citizens and stakeholders, and the activities carried out through workshops, pilot actions and surveys.

The session will also examine the main achievements, difficulties encountered and lessons learned, highlighting insights that can be transferred to future urban mobility initiatives and city projects.

Rather than focusing only on theory, the webinar will offer real-life examples and actionable lessons for public authorities and mobility professionals.

Speakers

  • Romèo Arianna, Project Leader at the Centre for Regional Development, Capital Region of Denmark
  • Cláudia Ferreira, Project Manager at Porto Digital
  • Danka Ördög, Social Innovation Researcher at Smart Innovation Norway
