Webinar: Shaping Sustainable Cities with New Mobility Services

Webinar: Shaping Sustainable Cities with New Mobility Services 1305 1056 Gemini

European cities are testing new ways to make urban transport more efficient, accessible and sustainable. But what can cities and mobility professionals learn from solutions that are already being implemented in real-world environments?

On Thursday, 3 September 2026, at 14:00 CET, the EU-funded Horizon Europe projects SPINE, GEMINI and metaCCAZE will host their first Joint Projects Webinar, Shaping Sustainable Cities with New Mobility Services: Lessons from European Cities.

The one-hour online session will showcase practical experiences from three European Mobility Living Labs. Participants will discover how cities and mobility organisations are introducing innovative services, digital tools and physical interventions to improve urban mobility and encourage more sustainable travel choices.

The webinar will explore solutions including public transport prioritisation, shared mobility services, digital mobility platforms and multimodal transport approaches.

Lessons from Porto, Gdynia and Miskolc

The session will feature experiences from Living Labs in Porto, Portugal; Gdynia, Poland; and Miskolc, Hungary.

Representatives from each Living Lab will present the local mobility challenges being addressed, the solutions tested and the lessons emerging from their implementation.

Sustainable Mobility Services during Football Matchdays

The GEMINI project will present its work in Porto, where Porto Digital and Via Verde are exploring sustainable mobility services for football matchdays.

The presentation will examine how mobility demand associated with major sporting events can be managed through new services and digital solutions, helping residents and visitors make more sustainable travel choices.

Integrated Public Transport and Shared Mobility

The SPINE project and the City of Gdynia will share their experience of integrating public transport with shared mobility services.

The session will highlight how coordinated mobility options can strengthen public transport networks, improve connections and provide users with more flexible alternatives to private car travel.

Multimodal Mobility Solutions in Miskolc

The metaCCAZE project and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics will present multimodal mobility solutions being tested in Miskolc.

The presentation will explore how different transport modes, digital tools and urban interventions can be combined to create a more connected and sustainable mobility ecosystem.

Rather than focusing only on theory, the webinar will provide concrete examples, practical lessons and transferable ideas that can support sustainable urban mobility initiatives across Europe.

An interactive Q&A session will give participants the opportunity to engage directly with the speakers and discuss how the approaches presented could be applied in other cities.
